Aodh Ruadh minors earned a valuable 5-12 to 1-5 win against Naomh Columba on Tuesday last. The Ernesiders played with a stiff breeze in the first half and took a while to settle. An injury to Alan Finan which resulted in him having to be taken off in the first two minutes didn't help.

Two goals by Ruairí Drummond mid way through the first half got Ballyshannon on track helped by Ronan McGurrin and James Barron taking control at midfield. James Barron in particular had a very good hour. Further points from Jamie McDonald and David McGurrin gave Aodh Ruadh an eight point margin at half. The question was, would it be enough playing into the breeze in the second half?

As it happened Ballyshannon got off to a great start in the second 30, scoring 2-2 in the first five minutess with goals from Ryan Granaghan and Martin Larkin. Conor Patton at centre half back exerted a big influence on the game in the second half.

All the forwards got on the score sheet and there was a goal from half back James Kelly who continued his impressive form this season once more.

Best for Aodh Ruadh were Ciaran Keon, James Kelly, Conor Patton, Roan McGurrin, Martin Larkin and David McGurrin with James Barron putting in a man of the match display at midfield..
