Shield honours for under 12s in Enniskillen

Under 12 football
7 June 2014
Brewster Park, Enniskillen

Aodh Ruadh took part in a tournament hosted by Enniskillen Gaels with clubs attending from Derrygonnelly Harps, Dromore, Carryduff, Kinawley, Enniskillen Gaels, Dungannon Clarkes and Aodh Ruadh. Aodh Ruadh were drawn in a group with the hosts and Dungannon Clarkes. Competition involved entering two teams of eight-a-side and the aggregate scores from both teams used. Aodh Ruadh struggled in the early stages against Enniskillen Gaels and Dungannon Clarkes but this was mainly due to the format of the competition and our lack familiarity with it. There were no goal keepers and only points counted for scores. Come early afternoon and Ballyshannon were up to speed and entered the final of the plate with both our teams playing against Kinawley who had beaten Dromore in semi-finals. Both our teams started all guns blazing and we won both games well. All lads played brilliantly, delivering a total team performance. Mark McGlynn was club captain and accepted the Plate for both our winning teams. Aodh Ruadh travelled with 23 players - Kyle Murray, Calum Doherty Craig, Daire Gallagher, Eugene Doherty, David Doherty, Mark McGlynn, Philip Cassidy, Cian Rooney, Jake Foley, Mitch McLaughlin, Daire Warren, Calum Ayres, Adam Hoey, Conor Foy, Frankie McGinley, Matt Gillespie, Daniel Dolan, Senan Rooney, Colm McGloin, Diarmaid Dolan, Kyle McCaffrey, Martin McGarrigle, Shane Duffy. Well done to all on a great achievement.
