The thirds were defeated 1-4 to 0-10 by Ardara in their first match of the division five season. Aodh Ruadh got off to a flyer after a sublime ball from Val Murray set Francis McShea free to score a cracking goal. After that the first half was a nip and tuck affair and Ballyshannon went in a point down at the break. In the second half the shooting let Aodh Ruadh down while Ardara steadily kept the score board ticking over to seal the win. There were good performances from Aidan Murray in the forward line and Matthew Thompson who was influential in midfield.
