Ballyshannon Park Valuation impost
Severe blow struck at GAA
Presiding at the Annual General Meeting of the Aodh Ruadh hurling and football club in the Market House Ballyshannon the chairman Rev. Bro Raphael congratulated the senior team on winning the league and the juvenile hurling team on winning the championship for the second year in succession.

Some fortunate local supporters travelled with the Aodh Ruadh senior team to Omagh on Easter Sunday where the Ernesiders and Saint Enda's gave a sparkling display of football in a game that the homesters somewhat luckily won by 2 points 1-7 to 0-8.

At Tirconaill Park, Donegal Town there was a fair attendance for the meeting of Donegal and Ballyshannon in their first round tie which the Ernesiders won 5-8 to 0-2 after holding an interval lead of 1-5 to nil.

Holding an interval lead of 4 points in a tense gripping game, Donegal giving a sound second-half display defeated AII-Ireland National league semi-finalists Armagh 2-4 to 0-8 before an attendance of 5,000 at O'Donnell Park, Letterkenny on Sunday qualifying for the final of the Dr. McKenna Cup against Cavan at Ballybofey on Sunday week.

The giants of the Gaelic arena in county Donegal for the past fifty years Ballyshannon and Saint Eunan's meet in the senior county championship golden jubilee final at the Sean MacCumhaill Park Ballybofey on Sunday next and as the day for this bib encounter draws near, interest in the red hot not alone in both centres, but throughout the county as to who are to have the honours of winning the Dr. Maguire Cup this season.

Saint Eunan's after a succession of disappointments in recent years had one of the sweetest and hardest wins in defeating Ballyshannon 0-8 to 1-2 in the final of the senior football championship at MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey before a large attendance on Sunday.
