~ DINNER DANCE ~
The annual Aodh Ruadh dinner dance which took place on Saturday past was a resounding success with 180 seated for the show and the celebrations continuing into the wee small hours. Many thanks to everyone involved in the organisation and staging of the event. Sean Perry was, once again, masterful in his role as compère, although he was badly but on the spot by an early Valentine's rose from club chair person Betty McIntyre! Thanks to PJ Buggy who did so much to pull together the 1986 and 1987 teams for the night. Thanks also to Peter Campbell who prepared the superb memento presented to members of those teams. Thanks to Brian Drummond who organised the display of pictures from the past year of club activity and a display of Aodh Ruadh merchandise, his club man of the year award was richly deserved. Thanks to Benjy Drummond, Terence McShea, Sylvester Maguire and many others who provided logistic and organisational support in the run up to the night. Thanks to the Benny and Mary and all the staff of Dorrian's for the fine meal and excellent service and also to John Meehan and his band who did such a fine job of the post presentation entertainment. We have some pictures from the night along with Sean Perry's script for those who might not have been able to make it, or whose memories of the night are a little hazy!
